Difficult to see from here if they are marks on the surface or below, on they will come off, in they will not.

They look to me like the scratches you get when grit gets trapped between the seal and the window. I'm not convinced an insurance company wouldn't just see it as normal wear & tear.

Many years ago I had similar on my windscreen and it used to 'flare' in bright sunlight. The insurance company were happy to replace as it was restricting vision. This is more aesthetic than safety related, so I doubt they'd entertain its replacement.

That is unusual for an insurer to get involved as it normally is down to the glass company, like the one I have owned for nearly 40 years.

That is unusual for an insurer to get involved as it normally is down to the glass company, like the one I have owned for nearly 40 years.

I phoned the insurer and explained what was happening in bright sunlight. They arranged for a new screen to be fitted by an auto glass company.
