I have that chainset myself. I paid 199 from CRC (back in one of the sales) so the figure on eBay isn't low enough to warrant huge suspicion, imho. Great chainset btw

I can't see how the small volume of sales would merit anybody going to the trouble to fake the product. Very expensive Chinarello frames, yes, maybe, but this wouldn't make sense.

factor in the import duty and handling charges too though, and you can probably get the same price in the UK

I've just paid and it has cost me exactly £200 including carriage. Fingers crossed it doesn't get "snagged" at UK Customs.

Unlikely to be fakes due to the small market for them. The counterfeiters like to fake items which are purchased frequently / expensive for what they are, branded tshirts, cigarettes etc. I don't see machined cycle components high up on their list.
If they were at a severely knocked down price they could be items that have failed the quality checks at the factory, rather than destroying them someone could be selling them on cheap. But at that price I'd say it's unlikely.
