Stay with me on this... remember I said about getting a monkey toy for a youtube video? Well one monkey sat on the kitchen table.

Can you get cycle helmets and yellow cycle coats that would fit a baby? As the monkey is basically baby-sized. Its head is 30cm curcumferance and I notice most toddler helmets are 46cm..

Wonder if I'm going to have to make his gear meself.

Get a cheap plastic bowl of the right size - amazing what you can do with a pair of sissors, a bit of black ribon, and if really required, papier-mache and paint.

For a photo/film it just needs to look real, not actually work

(Special effects ....)

I think you will have to. I haven't seen anything smaller than 46.

Imagination ......

Edit: I have seen something now..... and doesn't he look happy in it

You want something like this (although he's much smaller than a baby):

Made the helmet and coat myself. The helmet is carved out of the sort of foam you get things packed in, and the shiny shell is papier mache, painted and varnished. The letters are cut out of white paper and glued on under the varnish layer - I had Met helmet at the time so his, of course, was Pet. The coat was cut and sewn from an old waterproof.

Seamus (that's the tiger's name) is a sort of mascot, and for a while came on group cycling holidays with me.

He even has a special outfit for vintage cycle riding.

Arch, that is the single greatest post I've seen on a forum so far

I'll make one, that solves it

Aw, shucks, thanks...

There's a long story behind the tiger, and he became quite a character for a while. Went to Amsterdam with some other guys, ended up smoking stuff in a cafe...;)

I found making the helmet wasn't too hard, once I'd found a lump of foam big enough. Alternatively, if you only want a hard shell, you could blow a balloon up to the right size, and put papier mache on it in a helmet shape. It's probably the finishing (colour, lettering, etc) that really makes it look the part...

I'm amazed a stuffed toy could do that. Did he suffer any side effects, e,g, paranoia? Did he think the Zebras were out to get him?

I can get foam no trouble. I'll nick it from the waste at work when we have a delivery. ;)
