Just had a brilliant thought, Me thinks that I could turn a bog standard pair of handle bars tuther way up and cut e'm so as to make a pair of Rominger style TT bars, I can the tag on two Shimano levers on the bar, or Campag bar end shifters on the corns, what be your thoughts, has anyone tried this El Cheapo route before ?

It's how the first ones were made after all. Use a non-ergonomic bend tho'. And stay away from crit, track and rando bars too, the shapes are all wrong upside down. Nice square tops with a round drop work best.

I think the technical term is chopped and flopped, or something like that, I did my first one about 1990

your'e a bit slow to catch on but yes - had a time trial bike with those type of bars - worked very well.

I suppose your next idea is some sort of shock absorbing mechanism for the front end of mountain bikes.
