Is this a game? That is a stock photo, what bike is it? At least if we had a clue about the bike we could google the spec and there could be a clue there?

You're asking because you're wanting to avoid them right?.. Right?!

Be aware that every mm2 removed from the swept area puts more & more load on the remaining metal, meaning that the disc will get hotter, while at the same time removes the ability to cool the remaining metal due to a lower surface area!

...and all those holes will harbour mud and grit, so the pads will wear down sooner. Go to a CX race and you will see the racers that are using discs go for those with minimal or no holes.
