Very seriously, I've hosted Australian visitors who were more interested in the GPO tower than St Paul's
(Goodies did not have the same restriction on broadcast in oz, so Twinkles the kitten was more of a 6pm feature on the ABC compared to the BBC)

Coal, and coal fires.
Near where I live, here is a museum (Beamish), which includes a mock-up of a coal mine. I took two of my grandsons (age 7 and 8) there one day. I had to explain to them, the concept of people digging this black stuff out of the ground, to make a fire to heat, cook, power their machines.
They stood there, with their iPads, giving my that "grandad's lost it" look.

I found mine the other day. It took a few minutes to get to grips with it again. Goodness, the numbers have shrunk since I last used one.

My son doesnt believe me when i tell him that there were no tablets, computers etc , i mean how did e keep ourselves amused ?
