Bob a Job week.
Otherwise known as child labour! I remember spending hours clearing some old lady's paths of snow (wearing my Cub Scout shorts) for the princely sum of exactly 5p

Ha'penny childs fare on the bus.
(Old ha'penny, that is)

At last, someone has mentioned "real" money, ie:

ha'penny - or 1/2d
penny - 1d (not pence P !)
thre'pence 3d
sixpence 6d
.... etc

240d in a £, halfcrowns, shillings (1s), ten shilling notes (ie a paper note equivalent to 50p !)

Then of course, there were the obscure measures: poles, chains .... even more I am sure which I have thankfully never needed to use, and have forgotten.

Ahh... the good old days, please wait until I clean my rose tinted (NHS) spectacles

Here's one you may find surprising.

Saving a document/file into their own folder on the school network. Everything is now tablet or smart phone for them

My boss in my last job had a story he liked to tell about when they first got computers in the office in the Win95 days, he was training a member of staff on the use of this new fangled technology and showing her how to move files around using Windows Explorer and were sitting looking at this on the screen -

To which the girl inquired "why don't you move the two boxes closer together and it won't take as long to move the files!"

Wondering WTF Bert Weedon is when Mike Read has him in the BBC1 breakfast show as a guest in 1984.
I saw Bert Weedon Live in Torquay in 1962. If memory serves he allegedly set a world record by playing 400 notes in one minute
Also saw Thora Hird and Freddie Frinton on another night, and Jet Harris & Tony Meehan.

No-one has mentioned Jamboree bags yet, so I just did

None Americanised Halloween without 'Trick or Treating'.
It all went tacky and comercialised after the film ET was released in 1982.
