- and a bath in the kitchen (the arrangements in our first house when we bought it back in 1970s - that and a loo just off the kitchen was the extent of the plumbing).
Luxury !

The house next to ours was recently sold, for not far off a million quid.
It did not have a bathroom, or an inside loo.

The old guy who was moved out by social services a while back, had been there since 1940

The new owners have gutted it (literally) and then spent over £250k fitting, amongst other things, two bathrooms.

Local one, Wakes Week(actually a fortnight) when most of the town closed down.

School holidays were in sync with this period. Still hard convincing people it actually happened.

I don't think this has been done, but I just made myself a coffee and this came flooding back! Going to the fridge after coffee poured and having the choice of either milk, or open a fresh bottle and have cream. Or when I was kid and I wanted refreshment secretly pouring the cream out and giving it a really good shake and 9/10 getting milk everywhere!!

Your comment about the milk made me think of this again, apologies if I've posted it in this thread (I know I've posted it in other threads) but I love it.
