Maybe a better 'indicator' or 'target' could be something like 120miles minus the age?

Nah, that wouldn't work in my eyes. Here's me at 58 having to slog my guts out and do 62 miles, and yet some 120 year old dude down the road is sat on his arse at home. We need some parity!
