I took my wedge bag off the bike other day and was staggered at the weight of it.
I thought I'd see if I could throw out anything not essential .
heres a before and after picture.
Weight before 460 gms
Weight after 226 gms
Thats a saving in un necessary weight of 234 gms thats more than the weight of my new Ritchey alloy seatpost or a 9 speed cassette
Now there is space to fit my cell fone in the wedge too which will make a more comfortable jersey.
I removed:
1. spoke key never used in last 15 years
2. 6mm allen key ,only need 5mm now for whole bike.
3. chain tool ,never used, added a Wippex type link
4. £6.00 coin replaced with £10.00 note
5. 1x tyre lever (only ever needed 2x levers)
6. Changed 100gm tube for a 65gm tube
7. swopped tube repair kit for mini version.
adding a further 43gms saved with new seatpost this morning thats a grand total of 277gms Wow

I really must go and tidy the garden ,fix the shed roof and paint the hall groan
