Hi,

I've been cycling for about a month so I my questions will be very stupid.

A piece broke off my bike. I don't know what it's called so I don't know how to look for shops that can fix it.

It's a folding ebike and it can't fold now because the thing fell off. It's like a quick release folding bracket?

Also, I put the battery back in incorrectly and now it's stuck and not holding it's charged as well because it's not seated correctly.

Are these things any bike shop can fix, or do I need a specialist ebike shop?

I suggest you contact the seller and find out what their advice is. They may be able to supply you with the missing part which looks like a clamp which locks the hinge in place. They might also be able to help with the battery issue.
If bought second hand you could search the internet for help or enquire of a bike shop that specialises in such bikes.

The bike shop is too far away for me to get to easily now so I was wondering if any other shop closer to me could help, but I think you're probably right and that contacting them would be the best.

The hinges on these bikes are pretty much universal I think so one from another make may fit, that or look for a scrap or very cheap similar bike.
The battery issue is something else where the seller might be the only one that could help, but similarly the battery could be used by other makes if yours is kaput.

Take it to your local bike shop (not Halfords) and ask. They’ll either be able to help or they won’t.
Otherwise call the place you bought it from and ask their advice. How far away is it? Can you get a train there perhaps? It may not be easy to get there but better than having a bike you can’t use safely (assuming it’s not usable even if the battery is dead and it won’t fold)

Update: My housemate found the metal piece minus the nut to hold it in. But I can consult the oracle (google) to get his back on.

The bike is still usable it just doesn't fold and the battery need to be charged more often.

Getting a train to the bike shop isn't a problem, but the getting the bike to the shop is a problem as I'm not skilled enough to cycle over an hour at a time yet and my part of London isn't step free to bring it on transport. Unless buses allow bikes without the usual "oh but what about prams"

That's complete, the ' nut' (I think) is on the left, if it is threaded. You insert the QR with the spring and close the hinge. Tighten the adjustment nut so that you can close it without too much effort. It shouldn't be too tight to close that you might stress the metal pin, if you understand what I mean. You'll get the idea when you try.
Works in the same way as a seat bolt clamp.

why do you need step free? Just carry the bike? Or is it only the tube with escalators?
Where are you trying to get to and from? You may be able to cycle to an accessible station

Just take it to the local shop first and see what they say.
You can cycle a bike without the battery if it’s flat

Step free because it's too heavy to carry (ir weighs 20kg and I'm very overweight and out of shape) down stairs or escalators. I have pedaled it with no battery before, it's just a pain in the knees.

Thanks cyberknight that's exactly what's missing except it looked more like a traditional nut.

that bit on the end of the bolt is still in your frame on the piccie, i reckon you can put it together, if you think you need another nut anything compatible should fit ,Any local hardware store or bike shop should have something to fit
