"squeezing through small gaps is the whole point of cycling"

People look down at those of us who, for example, stop in between two cars at a red light rather than passing the stop line by 2 feet or jumping the red. It's mainly because they see countless others do it and then consider the minority to be "ill-educated" about cycling; they think that being "in" traffic is more dangerous than squeezing their way up the side of an HGV.

It does get to me sometimes because I know that people are trying to race me; I can tell by their behaviour. It's a shame that their own egos are often contributing factors in road traffic incidents.
