Can't update firmware on Tacx Vortex Smart Trainer T2180 to use with Zwift

Hi. Hoping someone can help me. For a few years I used Zwift successfully with my Tacx Vortex Smart trainer. It always connected quickly and easily. For the last 2 years I haven't used it as I've had complications from a broken leg. I'm now cleared to go back to Zwift. I turned on the trainer and downloaded the latest version of Zwift. The trainer connected and I chose a ride. My avatar appeared on the track as did my name in the side bar which features everyone currently riding. But when I pedal, my avatar doesn't move and no info from the trainer appears. I looked down at the light on the trainer and seeing it was red downloaded the latest Tacx (now Garmin) app. My trainer connected with it and I saw I needed an update. I clicked update and waited. And waited. And waited. After about an hour approx 3% appeared to have downloaded. Same after 2 hours. I have spent this evening deleting and reloading apps. I have tried 4 different devices - 2 laptops, an iPhone and an iPad and have had zero luck. My trainer connects via an ANT dongle. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Have you tried the turbo on a different platform, Bkool, wahoo training platform? This will tell whether the turbo has more than a firmware issue

I have tried with the Tacx app on my iPad. It finds the trainer but just won’t update. I have downloaded and tried with BKOOL. It also recognises the trainer but the avatar doesn’t move when I spin the wheels. The light on the vortex remains solid amber the whole time. This is rather depressing!
