capes (weight of Carradice Pro Route Cape)

I am interested in using a cape against the rain, because I am getting fed up with getting wet from the inside. The Carradice Pro Route looks very interesting, if only because of the hi viz colour. Does anyone know its weight? I can't find it anywhere.

I have one, it weighs 420g.

It currently says on the Carradice website that it has a hood, mine is an old one and has no hood.

I like a cape for torrential rain with little wind, you ride along dry in a microclimate under the cape.

I use a Paramo jacket and trousers or rainlegs when it is wet and windy rather than my cape.

Thanks. That is a bit heavier than the 290 gram of the Vaude Valdipino, but that one is not in hi viz, which I rather like for rain wear.

they are very heavy and stiff. the shoulder shape is a bit weird as well. mine is a new one but has no hood.

it's doesn't feel like polyester, it's more like pvc.

My Carradice Pro Route Cape is a very high visibility yellow woven fabric with sewn seams and an edging tape. The fabric has a soft white inner surface like a layer of polyurethane. If you ever bought the cheap plastic capes of the 1950s/60s then this one is a stouter material and will feel a bit stiffer.

Mine is a few years old, but Carradice are a traditional company and unlikley to have changed anything in the manufacture.
