Me too! I've gone from the VW logo to a Bluemotion logo on a world map background.

I’d have Linda Lovelace

Bah. Oodles of deblocker, 24 hours to soak in and a 700nm impact driver can't shift my crankshaft pulley bolt on the Porker. I use Inotech. What other serious deblockers are out there?
When I rebuilt the engine, I omitted doing the oil pump drive gear. It's clever - there's not much to go wrong with them but I have done 10k since and it's about to hit the 80k mark since I rebuilt it so what better time to change the belts, do the drive gear - the drive gear is driven by a toothed section near the front of the crankshaft but requires removal of the belts and pulley. I think a blow torch is the only option (and a new O ring and oil seal).
Also, been wanting to get this done for a long time; i've sent the cam carrier/rocker cover of for powder coating. Pics to follow. Can't wait. There's nothing like waiting for shiny bits on the post. It's not lost it's edge ever since I started cycling and ordering stuff out of CW.

If it's anything like the crankshaft pully bolt on my son's BMW, the impact driver wouldn't touch it and we snapped at least two 1/2 inch bars (at the socket joint. Had to result in borrowing a truck sized breaker bar and socket (3/4 or 1")

Aygo is due MOT on Monday, so double checked everything. Bulbs, handbrake adjusted, visual check of front pads, check underneath. Only thing I can't do is the exhaust has one snapped bolt from when the 'exhaust place' re-used a bent bolt. Came up as an advisory last year, but there are no leaks and the one bolt holding it has done for two years - it's a tiny exhaust anyway. The head of the bolt sheered off leaving the shaft in there - it will be a case of drilling the bolt out should the exhaust need changing in the future - as it stands the exhaust flanges are in the way.

The van is due in late October, but I got the bike lights out for a thorough check of the brake pads, there is loads more material left than I thought from just looking in daylight.

Done that recently on a dpf bolt that had case hardened....simple job turned into a nightmare. Was too lazy to go and buy some decent drill bits so spent an afternoon swearing and struggling till I got it !
I've since bought myself some decent drill bits....that will probably sit in the garage unused for a year or so 🤣

Any older car, you are bound to get a few that just snap. Last time I adjusted the Aygo's handbrake, both bolts that hold the bit of plastic trim that is around the handbrake sheered (this is inside the car). One I drilled out and the left over shaft came with it, the other I drilled and fitted a self tapper.

It came out with some assistance from a blow torch and the impact driver. Then the woodruff key was stuck...
Some more de-blocker and it budged eventually.

Oil seal, O ring and oil pump drive gear now replaced.
Now the long wait for the powder coated cam carrier to come back so I can put the slightly tweaked fast road cam in...

I upset someone on a VW forum. They're selling big brake transporter conversions using Porsche calipers and custom made carriers.

I suggested that they were rather lovely, but it would be nice to have an option without Porsche engraved on the calipers, which went down like the truth in a cabinet office meeting.

Embossed, decal or raised metal lettering?
