I have an '11plate' Octavia estate (1.6Tdi), & there's 4 drivers on the insurance

1. Registered/insured in my name
2. Wife has business cover on it (varying places of work,etc...)
3. Both in-laws are on, in case they need it to move large/bulky items

Received renewal last month.........£203 fully comprehensive

Was £251 last year!!!!! (with Liverpool Victoria(

Mindst you, the XKR was a bit of a bargain when we had that; £350ish, but on limited mileage of 6,000 (but considering it had only covered 7,000 in the 4 years we had it, a limit of 6,000 was no hardship!!)

Try going through topcashback got mine for £170 this year with the £70 cash back taken into account , new car (Octy estate) fully comp protected with FC europe inc. (Aviva)

"chequered"? Surely chequered means a bit up and down. That sounds to me more like, say, 'disastrous'. Or perhaps 'catastrophic'.
He has been good for 4 years now, no crashes. He even has 4 years no claims. His insurance was still £880 for this year though, that is for a Renault Clio Sport! At the age of 25, I think he may be starting to grow up a bit.

One of the lads in the office piped up one day "That's why it was so expensive"

He had just started driving and for the first year had been paying monthly instalments at staggering high price, when he came to re insure the price dropped by over 50% and although he was chuffed he could not understand why the huge drop.
After checking the years before policy, it came to light that when asked the question "How many miles do you do" he said 80,000 thinking they were asking how many miles the car had done.

So for a yearly mileage of around 6000 he was paying for 80000 haha oh how we laughed.

They must have thought he was a taxi ..

Just try insuring a 19 year old with less than a years experience with no no claims discount on a small engined car. Highest quote I have got so far for a Peugeot 206 1.4 petrol (example car) is about £7000. Cheapest is £1600 (Hastings Direct (Google insurance search)) or £1400 with a black box (Hastings Smart Miles (Money Supermarket)).
