Ok so have seen threads on here before about motorists behaving badly etc. Whilst I have experienced this in the past my normal reaction whilst out riding is bleeping idiot then i let it go as i think i'm out to enjoy myself and someone cutting me up or pulling out in front of me isn't gonna spoil my ride.

Like today was out on a short blast and an old lady pulled across a cross road as i approached (my right of way). Bless the poor lady miss judged my speed as she looked at me in shock and almost stop half across the road after realising how fast i was actually travelling which could have resulted in me t-boning her. I let that go with a shake of the head and carried on.

What wound me up was i was out on a main road and a car whizzed by with mm to spare (there was enough room for three cars to be side by side on this road) and at the same time had friends shouting out the window trying to distract me. Again my reaction was bleeping bleeping idiot but then i noted something after he had passed. He had a dam bike in the back of the car so was a cyclist too now acting like that when your a cyclist too in my opinion is unacceptable and in excusable!!!!

Right sorry about that rant over steam vented etc!

acting like that when your a cyclist , OR NOT, in my opinion is unacceptable and in excusable!!!!

Agree, but rather weird and odd "if" it was the blokes bike in the back and "if" it was a road bike.

The thought did cross my mind as to whether it was his bike or shall we say borrowed from somewhere but guess that will remain a mystery.

Owning a bike != being a cyclist. likewise driving a car != being an a***hole.

Looks like he's just an a***hole with a bike in the car.

I must admit I do understand you on that @junkie_ball we have quite a few vehicles traveling around here with MTB's strapped on the back of them (our adrenalin trail attracts them) mostly they are quite good etc whilst well as the saying goe's theres one in ever bag.

What really annoys me is when the drivers at junctions look straight at you cycling towards them then pull out anyway causing you to have to brake. Happened again to me today and really took some willpower not to go and tell the stupid cow what I thought of her driving when I saw her pull into a car park which no doubt would of ended up with me getting into bother!

We were riding along a short section of the A57 this morning (dual carriageway, two lanes, light traffic as it was early and between two roundabouts so the traffic isn't flying along anyway).

The few cars passing went past in the other lane, until one decided to beep his horn right behind us, pull alongside and start shouting for not using the cycle path alongside. He was about 50 with a young lad about 8 in the passenger seat.

Obviously he got my back up straight away, but I shouted that the cycle path was covered in loose gravel and sharp stones (the word I actually used was sh*t), and we have every right to use the road. He ranted on, shouting 'that's why you get run over' until we'd had enough and told him to f*ck off and read the Highway Code.

He drove off, more than likely totally oblivious to the fact the cycle path ended about 400m up the road and we'd have had to rejoin the carriageway and do the next 20 miles on roads anyway.

I think we were quite reserved given the situation, if he hadn't got the lad in the car I'd have told him to pull over for a chat if he cared that much. I just don't understand why people get so wound up they feel the need to start shouting - there was an empty lane and a half beside us for cars to pass perfectly safely and the road was totally straight.

I had an incident last night when riding through town, there was a steady stream of cars going past me up the hill when all of a sudden a very loud "BRRRRR" and past went a car with a Tannoy speaker on the roof obviously rigged up to some sound effect system...what a cock...that could easily put someone under the wheels of the next car it was that loud.....
