It would depend on the condition of the bodywork which would determine how much prep was required, the type of paint and possibly even the colour, (some colours are harder to paint than others), but definitely over a grand anyway.

Programs like Wheeler Dealers regularly pay over £2k for a full body respray on their latest project, and that's with Edd China doing all the prep work himself.
