A quite common fault is the crank sensor, assuming the battery is charged, you would need diagnostic equipment to check for this. another one would be the low pressure fuel pump, would like to know waht sort of car it is.
Despite the fact I play with cars daily and have 47 years experience in the motor trade I would still be calling somebody with a diagnostic machine.
