Carbon bars (flat bars for hybrid)

Hi all just looking for info realy want some carbon bars but most say there carbon and alloy
Does this mean that they are just carbon raped? Sl-k ones on crc are the same or is it just the clamp area that's alloy and the ends are carbon?

Yep carbon bars-stem and bar ends plus carbon seat post not sure why never had carbon parts on my bike and must be lighter than alloy?

By alloy i'm sure you mean aluminum.

Carbon is not always lighter than alloy.

Take Ritchey WCS kit for example. The carbon stuff is slightly lighter (like 10-20g) but it's not as stiff as the alloy stuff. Oh and alloy WCS is half the price of carbon WCS.

Just because it's carbon, doesn't make it better. Like any material, the higher end stuff is the dogs danglies. The lower end stuff might not be better than similar priced stuff in other materials.

Have a look at various components on the Ribble site. They nearly always have the weight listed. Interesting to see the differences in carbon seatposts (for example) vs alu. Not necessarily lighter, a lot of the time. I think you need to spend biggish for such things to be worthy. The cheaper, carbon wrapped stuff is probably not worth it.
