No I'm genuinely interested, I've got bikes with steel and carbon and had alloy ones as well. Personally I can't tell the difference whilst riding similar set ups.

I would not see the point in getting another aluminium frame/carbon fork bike. I have seen a few on ebay for approx 200 euros, but ive already got an aluminium frame so I thought I might just upgrade the fork. There is not really going to be much of a difference in a 300 - 400 euro frame regardless who is the manufacturer. How do the top companies make lighter frames, maybe using less material, which maybe influences durability ?

I hadent thought about the rake issue. that would be how far front axle is off centre line of headtube ?

TBH there is little point in just upgrading the fork as you suggest. If it were me I would sell it and upgrade to better bike from a premium maker with the said carbon fork. If funds don't permit leave alone for now.
