What do you guys make of the latest Alu frames out there? Can/Do they compare to Carbon in their power transfer?

If I am spending around £2k, am I better to go for Carbon and Ultegra or Alu and Di2?

I had the same decision to make last summer . I decided I was getting more bike with the carbon and more Di-2 with the Alu so went for carbon .

Cheers. You just confirmed what I already thought. Still frantically searching for some that ticks every box. Got a month or so more to find it, as promised the missus that I would wait until we return from holiday to get n+1.

The Rose superlight alu models are very highly rated in reviews, the inability to test ride is a big downside

I am really intrigues tbh, and was the Rose I was looking at. Might just go for Carbon as got Alu already and nice to have something different.

I have a good rapper going with a guy at my local LBS, but their stock is somewhat limited. Got fair advice though, which I respect.

He is raving over the new Felt AR5 and AR3. 2015 model of AR3 is in store and offered me a test ride along with the Defy Advanced that just arrived, rather late.

They also sell Bianchi, but don't have Demi's or test rides unfortunately.

He reckons the AR's are Aero Road and not at all like the Giant Propel or Spesh Venge.

Presently I am leaning towards the Rose Xeon or importing a Bianchi Sempre Pro Ultegra from Germany.

Alu has slipped by I think. Any thoughts on the Sempre Pro, Vickster?

I am the King of Procrastination, in case you hadn't noticed yet. Lol.

Blinking spelling correction. I moved to a place a few years back. My family thought I lived in Pen1$ Road, as opposed to Pengry Road!

I don't believe the old or the crocked bit to be frank.

You're a terrible influence, it's threads like this that have me browsing new bikes when my current one is less than a month old.... Spent a few hours on the Rose web site recently!
