Hello all.
I have to cut down my carbon steerer tube by about 11/2 inches.
Now my question is about the compression plug inside. Do i remove it somehow and replace it when the cut is done, or do I remove it and have to replace it with a new top cap/compression plug combo?
I have all the correct tools; cutting guide, carbide blade etc. it's just this compression plug thing.
Thanks in advance.

I'd leave it where it is (as I can't think of a good reason to move it further down into the steerer than it's current position).

Also wrap some tape inside and outside the tube before cutting to minimise carbon fragments going all over the place!
