I feel your pain, I did that once with a box opener in a public place, claret everywhere, 4 hours in A&E didn't get seen, even though the bloody thing would not stop bleeding. In the end I went home, put a load of plasters on it and then bound it with gaffer tape. I've a huge scar on my thumb now.

I hope it heels quickly and it wasn't to painful.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
...... went through my mind just seconds after I'd opened a nice clean 3cm long slice into the skin. of the nice fleshy part below my thumb ....
Fortunately just missed my wrist.
Timing of course is everything as my hours in A&E coincided with the England Ireland match I was planning to watch
2 weeks off cycling I reckon
And your complaining you did not have to watch football ?
2 weeks off cycling for a 3cm scratch? Wuss
When i was a milkman i slipped and got a deep cut on my thumb joint closest to the hand , got took to A&E, got stitched up , finished the round and then drove 200 + miles to holidays .
Still get tingling feeling and hurts when cold sometime many years later .
