So a friend of mine wants to get into cycling and I found this carrera F/S near by. Almost new condition 200 quid ono.
which is about half new price I believe.

Are they a good solid first bike, seems a quite reasonable spec and good vfm to me to be honest.

Can anyone of you guys vouch for them, anyone own one past or present?

Good rep on here and quite a few owners. Sounds like a bargain but ask the buyer for their original receipt if they have it just to check it's not stolen.

What year is it?

They're only £300 new at the minute so it would have to be pristine.

Have him ride it and see what he thinks, especially the size.
Has a suspension fork so might be comfortable if bouncy on rough roads if speed not key. Won’t be the lightest.
Unless he is looking to ride mainly off-road, better to seek out a hybrid without suspension, something like a Trek FX, Whyte R7 model or similar.
