Selling my Carrera Subway 8 with low maintenance Nexus 8 speed internal gear hub and roller brakes.
Frame is 18", i.e. 48cm seat tube C-T and I measure the horizontal 'virtual' top tube length from the centre of seat post to the centre of top of the head tube as 585mm.
It is mostly original with the exception of the excellent Gilles Berthoud stainless mudguards, Vittoria Rubino Pro Slick 26x1.5" tyres (very light, fast and comfy), Thorn 40T reversible chainring (done about 10000 miles but looks like it could do it all again), Sturmey Archer 19T 1/8" sprocket, KMC 1/8" chain fitted about 1000 miles ago and Shimano UN55 BB fitted around 5000 miles ago. The rack is a sturdy 'Massload'.
When I got the bike about 5 years ago I fitted the later type seal and dust cover on the drive side of the hub and I have been running the hub in gear oil, changing it every six months or so- the hub internals are immaculate with no signs of corrosion or undue wear and it shifts and runs perfectly.
The hub gear oil has just been changed again, the front hub and headset have just been serviced, and I have just removed, greased and re-installed chainset, BB and seat post.
Over all condition is very good, the alloy frame and chromo forks have one or two very small chips and rubs which I have touched up and there is one bit of bike rack related scraping to the lower down tube on the drive side also touched up as in the last picture.
I have a spare front hub with one worn cone, 'cassette' (hub shifter thingy) and 'Revo' grip shifter which a buyer is welcome to if they want them. Also could throw in some spare comfort grips and bar ends if required.
I would like £200 for this faithful friend which is now surplus to requirements. Postage within UK £30
I will try and take some better photos in daylight when I get the opportunity.
