Cars that veer right when you're filtering on the right.

Yeah. Get a lot of it every day.

Buuuut... in the last year, we've noticed more drivers pulling in to let us go past.

Got it on the way home, traffic moving at 15mph and the driver veered about 6 feet to meet the white line! Pointless Friday teatime arse wittery.

It's very rare here in Glasgow, never had it actually. You'd be lucky for a driver in a queue to spot you and react before you've passed them and made it to work tbh

Even my short (4 mile) commute is past a mile or so of slow-moving traffic. I passed close to 100 cars yesterday, each one to their right, none of them moved to block me and some even moved to their left to give me more room.

I thought that only happened in Little House on The Prairie.

Can be very dangerous if they try to steer you into a head-on collision with oncoming traffic. I've experienced this once, and it was very unpleasant. Against instinct and advice, I now tend to filter on the left, where the worst they can do is force you into the kerb.

When safe to do so, not only will I filter on the right, I will do it in the middle of the oncoming lane. I stress, though, only when it is safe to do that.

It happens now and again.
Just sad tossers sitting in their metal box feeling aggrieved that a cyclist has the temerity to overtake them.

And car that makes any effort to move left always gets a thanks in return.

I'm sure that happens too.

Coincidentally, my latest off was from a vehicle pulling to the right as I passed. He was signalling left, as was the vehicle in the next lane to the left, when the morons filtering up the gutter pushed in front of a left-turning vehicle, which swerved to avoid them, and the van near me swerved to avoid the car.

Yes, morons.

I tend to find it's the ones on their phones that do this. I've no idea why but on the approach to Shooters Hill there's about a mile uphill drag to the hospital turn off that has traffic islands all the way up. You can virtually guarantee that the driver pulled right up to the island is on his/her phone.
