This is actually a good idea! My sister was the anxious one when I lodged with her and her ex-husband. We once had to turn back in the car, drive 10 minutes home because she wanted to check the gas hob again. It was off. But she coouldn't proceed with the day trip until she had checked again

Such a condition is an absolute curse.

The best thing I've done for years is changing the gas hob to an induction, I don't waste ten minutes every night checking and re-checking that the burners are off. And I've saved even more by switching from cigarettes to vapes as I don't have to keep checking the back porch to see if I've left something burning.

When I was in Norway in January 2024 I walked into the chalet we were staying in and wondered why they had an upright fridge in the entrance hall. Upon opening it I found it was full of racks and had a small fan heater too. It was for warming and drying clothes after being outside in temperatures well below zero.
