A bit like the gag where someone asks "is this snake poisonous?" "no" whereupon he gets bitten and becomes seriously ill. "I thought you said it wasn't poisonous" "It's not poisonous. It is venemous"

A variation (although I prefer the snake joke, the following still makes me smile):
Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator says, "Calm down. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence; then a gun shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says, "OK, now what?"

Thanks. I didn't get that far with my mental recitation. I got as far as him not being allowed to participate in reindeer games when I was overcome by a profound sense of melancholy and was unable to continue.
