Reminds me of when I lived in Llandudno and was a teacher in Rhyl

one weekend I was having pie and chips on the beach
I had a technique - I say on the parapet thing (about 6 inches high)
and parked my bike behind me on its stand
and with the front wheel turned so the whole thing provided a curved screen behind me to stop the bar steward gulls swooping down from behind and grabbing a chip
anyway - one was clearly trained by the Red Arrows and swooped down, just cleared the rack on the bike na ddropped down at speed and grabbed MY PIE!!!

I mean - that MINE and IT'S MY DINNER!!!!


I bent down and grabbed a half brick that was among the stone on the "beach" while shouting

Then realised that there was a significant possibility that one of my pupils - or ex pupils - might just be around
and lobbing a half brick at one of God's creatures (not sure which god!!!) while on a crowded beach

was not likely to be regarded as appropriate behaviour for a teacher

Gull dropped the pie pretty quick anyway

and yes - I did get it and eat it!!!
