I started teaching IT in an all girls school
I used to tell the kids that one of the reasons I was teaching them how to use a computer was so that if they ever started working in a big company then they would be able to use the computer already and NOT need to ask some creepy older bloke how to do everything
When I taught in a mixed school I did the same - adding "and that is NOT just a message for the girls" used to cause some of the lads to sit up and pay attention!
