Not quite a cartoon, but seemed a good place to post it. Apparently the guy was in advertising, and got hired somewhere else within a few days after the story got out

Perfectly captures the difference between my son and daughter.
Son is only interested in the shortest possible books, to get his reading quota in. whereas daughter actually cares about the story.

when I was in the last year of Primary School there was a book to read every week and we had to write a synopsis of it for Friday

There was one in particular that was very thick with very small print
and everyone dreaded that book coming round

WHen it came to me I reckoned I had better make a start that evening
ended up with my Mum coming upstairs at bedtime worried as they hadn't seen me all evening

I ended up finishing it on Saturday and having the synopsis done before bedtime that day

I loved the book - great story and well written and I just couldn;t put it down
even at 11

wish I could remember the name of the book - it is not all that well known, but it is a proper book and not a kids book

I have always been like that - show me a book in 5 volumes and I am interested!
