Cat baths.

My gf has 4 cats. two of them love water, to the point where these two cats are in the shower or bath with her, or in the sink with the washing up when washing up is underway. Why?

Why do people bath cats? Our cats appear to have some kind of oil in their fur that a) keeps them warm and is water repellent. Surely bathing would make the fur less effective?

I love cats....I would never bath one......
Im not a huge fan of the pedigree mega hairy/fluffy ones that have to be treated like royalty. Too poncey for my liking.
My old Tom cat....called TC was superb....he did have his genital op.....of course....but what a great cat he was.
