As long as I breathe, I attack.
We have 3 cats, 2 of them are massive Maine Coons so we've got what;s termed a large cat/small dog catflap which they use. Oscar the biggest is enormous, around 12kg so he struggles to squeeze through these days ^_^. Quite funny watching him. His fault, he eats too much!
Fortunately we've a huge garden which we've cat proofed so they go outside for toilet stuff so no litter trays and this also means they are kept away from road. In the past we've lost a few on road which is heart breaking so we got entire garden fenced in. Only issue we get is occasional break in by badgers which then means repair work by your truly. We live in rural area surrounded by fields so plenty other wildlife around.

our cat is small and does go outside all the time atm too so no litter trays , shes 8 years old so i am just thinking ahead  .The last cat we had had a litter tray and was more of an indoor cat so we didnt even need a cat flap as she rarely went outside even if the door was open .

Nah, stuck between their pads as they've been 'digging for Britain'
Plus of course, the extensive fur between their toes - !

We have a cat run for ours, down the side of the garden and behind the fence. Three ragdolls and a ginger ninja. That said they are only 4Kg at the heaviest, despite being a bigger breed - Simba is 2" taller on the shoulders than Leo the ginger (and longer) - but 12kg, they must be huge. Ours access the run via the conservatory window. If the window is unlocked, Simba the raggy can open it from either side, the others can't. He's not learnt how to close it.
