We have a very catalog which we hardly ever use but last week our (well the Mrs's) vac blew up so had a scout round for good deals,Comet,Curries etc and decided to check the cats clog.

Tried to log in and it didnt recognise my email or password, tried the "lost password" routine, again didnt recognise me,eventually managed to log in with my account number......

Top right corner showed I had £698.00 of orders pending

Looked at order history and by chance it was the same day someone had ordered a load of perfume and aftershave on my account

Anyway, their fraud team managed to stop some of the shipments and recalled some from the depot but some did get delivered,Fraud squad now taken over and in their hands.

My point is now I dont know what damage has been done as apparantly they needed my email address, password and date of birth to change the delivery address.

I have Mcafee security which didnt show anything up but reading up this isnt the best security so I tried Virgins own Security (VMS) which virtually brough my pc to a standstill.

Uninstalled that (I think I have as it said I dont have the authority but its not running anymore) and installed Microsoft's Security Essentials (MSE) plus I have downloaded Malwarebytes.(MWB)

The strange thing with MWB is when I ran it, both VMS and then MSE both popped up with various Trojan threats, whilst MWB didn't detect anything

I'm wondering if these are false alarms put on by MWB?

So for now I only have MSE running permantly

Back to the security breach

I haven't received any emails asking me to "update my account" etc nor have I visited any unusual sites outside my normal activity.

All my other passwords are now changed and before I changed them I used the "lost/rest password" to make sure I received the email and not someone else.

All my on line banking and security is protected by (not saying just in case of keyloggers) and i have now added extra security to my Paypal account (added mobile number which sends an authorisation number to enter on the site prior to letting you in)

I have kept a daily check on my bank accounts and informed my banks and credit cards of the hack

What extra can I do to prevent a hack and how did they get my details?

Thanks for any advice
