Couple of things, if you ride FIXED ("fixie", poseurs term imported from US...!) you MUST have a front brake - or not be allowed a start. These events are not courier races.......
Good point about using fixed, light bike, momentum, all that. Theory blown by Burton junior on a standard road bike! Maurice knows a thing or two about bike racing, and his lad looks like a real good 'un in the making.

What makes Germain's win even more remarkable is that in 2009 he had a bad finish which was distressing for both him and his supporters so to come back and win it the following year just shows that this is one determined young man.Sign him now Sky before others do.
