I’ve also bought some new ear plugs as I’m a light sleeper and know from last year that some of the guys snore.

Spent yesterday replacing the rear cassette, chain and chainset. Of course I bought the wrong size of chainset off eBay and had to race into town to get the right size. Why do I always leave these things to the last minute! Gave the bike a quick spin and all seems well. Time will tell over the next three days of my commute to work. Fingers crossed!
Mark, what time do you want to leave Dunfermline? Need to know so that we can work out what time to leave Edinburgh.

I reckon on 4 hours riding time from Dunfermline with probably a stop, if you guys left 10-10:30ish getting to Dunfie around 12 does that suit? Don't mind a bit earlier, whatever suits you guys is fine.

Just wondering if I could meet you on the kelvin way cycle path on Thursday? I would meet you at the Friends of the Kelvin Hut/outdoor gym and will wait there from 10am. Would this be ok? I am loving the planned routes and getting excited about trip. Went over the Crow road today, brilliant run...one for the Belles!

Bit of a mammoth fettling session this evening to get ready for Thursday.

Fettling the Dawes involved: -

• Replacing the stem and remounting the Garmin bracket
• Switching the Cyo bracket from a normal wire one to a canti-specific one
• Shortened front cable outer and replaced the front brake cable* (which was the original on the Vantage in 2011, pre-dating even the frame and probably getting on for 10000 miles!)
• New front and rear pads
• Stripping down and de-gunking the rear brakes
• Replacing the outer and middle chainrings (and scrubbed the baby 22t inner ring clean in the sink)
• Bit of rear wheel truing (still needs more really, think I've stripped a nipple)
• Replacing Cassette and chain
• Re-doing the front brake cable so it doesn't foul on the gear cable housing*
• Replacing rear light with a new B&M one that worked
• Cleaning most of the gunk off with baby wipes
  
  Decided I didn't feel like replacing the other cables that all seem fine, and the scruffy bar tape can wait. Time for bed I think
