This will no doubt come up next year so have come up with a plan. Think I am picturing members all wrong. Thought a junior member referred to someone's age before I became one, thought Joe24 was 24 before he mentioned 6th form etc etc. So how about a CC calendar? It could be 'Calendar girls' style on our favorite bike runs. One for girls and one for boys. And we could use it to raise money for CC and a cycling charity. Would need to do it now because of the weather. I find it dead easy to make on a mac, but there are cheaper better ways if someone else wanted to do it. What do we think?

This comes up every December when it's too late but at least you've avoided that pitfall. Personally I think it should only involve scantily clad female members of the forum but that might be considered sexist:blush:

No, that sounds only right and proper to me

Names ending in 'en'! Karen, Helen mentioned something about this (she often does ). To make it real, she has been compiling butt shots of fellow CCers 'in action'. Give her a nudge. Do a sample. Between you, that would be six months each.
Could be a hot potato...(what the hell has that got to do with anything?) Anyway...

If you need any bow-legged, pot-bellied, balding, buck-teethed, spotty-faced blokes for the Mens calendar - give me a call, and I'll see when I'm available.

To be serious for a moment...

I did raise the idea of a calendar recently among the mods - my thought was not the WI type (although I'd be up for it, I think it would be very hard to organise), but one with really good pics taken by forummers - we could have a competition, or a judging panel.

Picturing people all wrong is part of the fun! Hence the famous "Arch is a girl?" moments...

I did a calendar of my kids for Christmas gifts for Family last year (well, part of their gift) - we got a 2-for-1 deal and I have to say I was very impressed with the quality and price.

I think the 'CCers pictures' rather than 'pictures of CCers' is a better idea simply because it avoids having to have 2 calendars (or risk the men a proportion of the forum members not buying it as it has 6 pictures of hairy-arsed-blokes rather than 12 of bikini babes pictures of both sexes rather than just the gender they're more interested in seeing on their wall)... however, it would be difficult to judge the images as people would want different things from their calendar. There would need to be a lot of discussion about what the pictures are to be of (landscapes / arty bike images / more abstract but still bike related pictures etc.) as well as deciding who the juding panel are to be.... but by all means give it a go, it'd be interesting to see what gets submitted and picked and see what the likely demand might be.

What about pictures of classic or unusual bikes that CC'ers own?

(prompted by Alec's bike build - the one with the green saddle!!!)

I thought a range of subjects - like the Photo Challenge thread has thrown up. Some arty, some 'journalistic/reportage', some sporty, some just plain nice. We could even try and make them slightly seasonal in terms of weather or stuff like that. I think we have some very good photographers on here, and sometimes you just get very lucky with a snap, if the composition is right. Entrants could 'donate' the image, and they could sell with a small mark up for CC.

I did a calendar two years back, for family, all flower pics I'd taken throughout the year. That was pricey, about £15 each from photobox, but I found a site that will do them for about £8, print on demand. Would people pay, say a tenner-£12? Of course, if anyone did a bit of research around printing firms, ,we might get cheaper, but then we'd probably have to buy bulk and risk having a lot left over, and they lose their value pretty quickly after about February.
