For my 'home office' i bought THIS CALENDAR & something similar with CC members bikes / photos I think would be great. The quality of the one I bought is not as high as some of the glossy celeb calendars that are on the market but adequate for the job
I'd certainly be up for buying one

Ah, it was Lulu I looked at... I think there's no minimum, so you just upload the pics, and give people the link to order by...

We could do this, really, but I think we need to get cracking on a plan of campaign...

I think the WI style would be a giggle, but I think the logistics would be onerous, and as people say, do you go for all girls, all guys, half and half. And suppose you get plenty of volunteers and they all bottle it at the last moment. So just good bike pics is perhaps an idea?

So, if we invite entries, do we go for a general poll, or a judging panel. The only thing about a general poll is that then everyone has seen all the photos already, so the calendar is less of a surprise. But a panel might not be representative.

And we'd need to work out cost, and level of interest, although print on demand means even a small number might be possible....

A poll is probably the way to go (imo).

I'd say - invite submissions for a month at a time (e.g. send a pic to be included for January, f'rexample). We could give a theme, if thought necessary. Pics in by the closing date get posted in a thread where they're voted on - most votes gets included, next invitation for submissions goes up.

Organising the pics and the threads is a bit of a hassle, but not excessively so - we used to do a photo comp on another forum each week that worked pretty well.

Perhaps Chuffy could do a calendar for us all of his own, featuring some of his rather unusual rubberware..... ;)

I'm sorry, for a moment I thought you said Tupperware...

Picturing people all wrong is part of the fun! Hence the famous "Arch is a girl?" moments...

These things work when there's a theme. It could be pictures of bikes, or pictures of bits of bikes, (but a bit more skillful than this)

or it could be pictures taken on bike rides at the appropriate months, and
we do have some really decent photographers in our midst. Arthur, for one....

Of course we could go Rapha-stylee - b/w pictures of inordinately yumsome middle aged men on bling bikes

but my vote goes for the kind of calendar that adorns bulders' offices. Arch in a CC top and not a lot else, looking through her eyelashes, apparently a little out of breath...

Don't know how many people would respond or how to organize a photo but what about everyone being in it on the month of your birthday like criminal mugshots with usernames underneath? Everyone who was interested could email a passport type pic and a clever person could cut and paste it into one sheet? Could even include the funniest quotes from the forum?
