Nope, it was just built when house heating wasnt really top priority. Bare tile roof, windows that don't fit, etc

No, we try and hold out until November. We are on oil which is pretty expensive, but then none of us including the kids like the house too warm. We get complaints from house guests

I've had the gas fire on in the evening the past couple of days, but the heating is going on later purely to dry clothes that can't go in the tumble drier though.

Bizzarely enough my heating has just kicked in which means the temp has dropped below 18. Won't be on for long though as this place holds the heat well.

Since downsizing from a big Victorian house that i did up and which had 2 beautiful open fires but hideous heating bills, i have moved to a new build and my bills are a quarter of what i was paying.

I miss the character etc of the other house but it was way too big for me and i was fed up of paying so much just to keep it running. Now i have more to spend on the other things in life.

they're not slippery... and they have their own heating. i may climb in with Fuzzy, it's around 30 in his home.

heat helps a little with reducing condensation but only slightly. airflow is what you need , and the dryer the air the better.

if its any consolation, we put the heating on for winter 2012/13 in mid Jan 13 and it was off by mid March 13. we aim for similar this year

central heating is good for drying condensation but as you say, needs fresh air, crack those windows open

whats cheaper...on 24/7 low or once eve and once morning?

depends how big the propery is and how well insulated. if large and uninsulated youll just be heating up the outside! if insulated well you may benefit from having a low set back on your heating, it will keep all the walls and furniture warm as this can drain heat from the room on heat up

I have noticed it has been getting a bit colder the last few days, but I just put a jumper on so not put the heating on.
