Chain bounced off this morning

My chain bounced of my fixed this morning,I was going over a pretty rough patch.
When I checked the chain doesn't seem particularly loose. Can the chain come off randomly like this as a one off or should I tighten it ASAP ( ie before I cycle home)?

I've been communting on a Giant Bowery for over a year with no incidents.

If your transmission is tensioned properly this shouldn't happen. I'd check it.

Have you checked the tension at each stage of the pedal revolution? If your Bowery is anything like mine, there'll definitely be a tight spot and loose spot. Either way, sounds like it could do with tightening.
