Chain cleaning

Hi there

I stupidly forgot to clean my bike before my last ride which was about a month ago. The result is the chain is all dry and rusty. What is the best way to clean this before I re-lube, etc?

Get a rag.
Lube and wipe
Lube and wipe

Lube also works as a cleaner

Its called the @mickle method

Simple as that, it works.

Yep - clean, oil, wipe, repeat. Also spinning the crank backwards to get the chain links moving and oily.

Or new bike.

What they say, the surface rust will just come off after a bit of oil.

I fink you mean after your last ride?

Chain is probably fine unless it was totally devoid of oil before being put away dripping with salty water. Give it a good rub with a rag then a squirt of oil and work it in.

Once you have done that forget about it and be happy again
