Chain cleaning

To increase the service life of the chain-rings and the chain, the chain can be cleaned with neutral detergent (avoiding the use of degreasers) and thoroughly lubricate it.
• Do not remove the chain to clean and/or lubricate it.
• Before lubricating, thoroughly clean the drive system...

@Ian H do you know the reasoning behind not removing the chain to clean or lube? I very, very rarely remove a chain but I'm interested to know why this shouldn't be done?

Possibly because of their use of a special joining pin rather then a quick-link. They don't explain.
