Does anyone have any tips on how to get a good chain line?

Unless you are using tried and tested parts that are known to be able to deliver the same chainline front and back then It is all about planning to achieve that. Without knowing what bike/rear hub/chainset/bb/chainlines you have got already and what is still free to pick it is a bit like what is the length of a piece of string...

I am using a flip flop hub

ok wheel will need to be spaced & dished central in the frame and the crankset will have to be bought nearer to bottom bracket to achieve chain line .

unless of course you are not going to flip wheel ?
