I know about the lengthy procedure for cleaning and lubricating a chain every once in a while, but what's the standard chain maintenance procedure at the end of a ride, especially if it gets wet?

  2. Wipe it and lube it

I don't bother after each ride on my commute, unless for some reason the bike has got extra dirty in which case the weekly clean and lube gets done earlier.

Search for "Mickle" in the box top right.

  7. I presumed from the OP's sentence, 'I know about the lengthy procedure for cleaning and lubricating a chain every once in a while' that they knew about Mickling.

If not then it's HERE

Thank you all. I hadn't seen the Mickle method before, but it makes perfect sense.
