Hello, after only 3 rides of my brand new Wilier road bike, I've already noticed 3 paint chips on my chain stay. It looks like the chain has been slapping against it. (In fact the chain is surprisingly close to the chain stay on the Gran Turismo model.)

I'm a bit surprised and disappointed, given that I only have 100 miles on the clock. Can anyone recommend a good chain stay protector? Ideally something transparent so that it blends in well.

Also, what would you recommend to colour in the marks that's carbon friendly? Felt tip pen? Nail varnish? The colour is black, so hopefully easy to sort.

Go to your LBS and buy a sheet of helicopter tape protectors, which should have several oval patches to protect the head tube from cable rub as well as a long one for the chainstay, if it doesn't already have one.

I bought this one from M Part - about £7.50 but money well spent:
