Ive been looking to change the chain on my bike that I recently bought second hand.

The bike is a KCP fixie, not sure exactly what model or age but the chain is looking rather worse for wear. I have spotted a sick gold chain, KMC X11 but it is a 10 speed chain. I am fairly new to the bike world so don't know if it will be compatible. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Your rear sprocket is going to be a 1/8th or 3/32nd width, so this is all you need in chains and probably a lot cheaper than a 10 speed.

A wider chain (1/8th) has thicker plates / longer pens giving bigger (+1/3rd) contact surfaces which decreases the rate of lenghtening by wear and makes chain last longer, at the expense of some added weight.

Best take the bike to your local bike shop to get a chain as it may need to be shortened by a link or two. A single-speed / fixie chain is a lot more substantial than an 11-speed chain, and the rear cog will be wider than an 11-speed chain could cope with.
