How do you merasure the length and width of a chain that you need. my one snapped earlier this evening on the way to the local club, and me an my dad tried to put in a spring loaded link in but when it got round the the derailkers at the back it would not fit:wacko:

help would be greatfully appreciated!!

They come in 3 widths - up to and including 8 speed, 9 speed and 10 speed.

Count the sprockets on the back wheel. As for length, they are usually about 114 links, but you'll probably need to remove a few. If you don't have a chain splitter, then get one - you'll need this to shorten the chain. And..if possible, get a chain with a super/quick link - KMC do these as standard.
