That hasn't changed. Only difference now is you can lock it up and it is still fair game, thanks to the wonderful new battery powered angle grinders.

We were banned from taking bikes to school because so many had been stolen.
But that was in the 80's, so it will have been Thatcher's fault.

Those giant, ugly concrete, multi storey car parks that always smell of fags and piss. The ones you just know have replaced something much more interesting and valuable or are in place of something that could have been.
The fetishisation of the motor car as some kind of object deemed worthy of aspiration.
