A couple of years ago I bought a Vitus Alios Triple - road bike. Really enjoyed riding it and cut off a fair bit of weight (more to lose though!). Since getting back into cycling more frequently I was wanting to do a few more long distance rides around the countryside, possibly over a few days with camping stops - ultimately something along the lines of LEJOG. Therefore I think I need to be on the lookout for a non-road/racer bike, so I can take panniers/tent etc with me and ride a bit more comfortably.
What sort of bike should I look for? Budgeting up to an absolute max of £500.
